How to Organize Your Group Vacation
Vacations are all about taking a break from everyday stress and routine, so you don’t want to add any more stress to it when you are trying to plan out your vacation! You want to make sure you plan everything perfectly in advance, so you don’t have any unwanted surprises when you get to the airport or to your accommodation. If you’re going with other people, you’ll want to make sure they’re all organized, too.
Once everything is all sorted after you’ve followed these important tips, you’ll feel a huge relief that will allow you to feel relaxed all throughout your vacation.
1. Choosing Your Destination
Choosing where you are going on vacation is the biggest and most important factor, especially if you aren’t going alone. You all have to agree where you’re going so that there’s no unresolved tension or bitterness if some of your party wanted to take a trip elsewhere.
Whether you are going on a fitness retrleat overseas or you’re going on a luxury cruise, you’ll want to make sure everyone is on the same page.
Explore your options together, look at different vacation activities and make sure you keep note of everyone’s favorites and choose fairly. The best way to do this is to have a vote; inevitably, some of your group will have to compromise, just make sure you all remember that you’re going to have fun in any case.
2. Picking Dates
You’re going to want to plan far ahead to make sure everyone is able to make it. It would be heart-breaking if you, your partner, or your best friend couldn’t make it to the vacation you had all been looking forward to because they can’t get the time off work or something else unexpected came up.
If you’re going with friends or family, be prepared to compromise yet again. Someone may have a wedding they have to go to or a work event they simply can’t miss.
Make yourself a spreadsheet of everyone’s availability. This way, you can see exactly when the best times to go are. Share it with your group and you’ll soon be ready to book!
3. When to Fly
If you’re going abroad, you’re no doubt going to have to fly there. Picking flight times that suit everyone can be just as much of a hassle as choosing the dates for the vacation itself.
It’s best that you follow the same steps as the previous tip to make sure that everyone will be able to make it to the airport on time and no one ends up missing the flight.
If you know that one of your friends or family members is notorious for being late, offer to pick them up and get ready to fly with them.
